Local Support for Foyle Branch The flagday collection raised a total of £2435 in 2008. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the collection and a special thanks to those who stood with the collection boxes.
On
Friday 6th June 2008 Dunbia, (formerly Dungannon Meats) based at Granville Industrial Estate
Dungannon Co. Tyrone, held their annual charity BBQ at Dungannon Rugby Club. The charity event
was attended by approximately eighty employees from Team Leader level to Senior Management who
all enjoyed a tasty steak BBQ and then danced the night away to some old classics! All proceeds
from the evening were donated to Foyle MS Society.
A cheque for £2000 was presented to Fiona
Farrell from Foyle MS Society by Managing Director, Kenny Swann. A huge
thank-you to organiser, Kenny Swann, and to all from Dunbia who donated
so generously to Foyle MS Society.

Nelson's Charity Day includes a golf classic on 14
July. Pictured are Nelson & Naomi selling rafle tickets at Supervalue in Limavady. Proceeds
of the Charity Day will be donated to the Foyle Branch and Macmillan Cancer
Rhondalee Nash presents Terry with a cheque for £900, the proceeds of a
charity match and a sponsored walk to Buncrana by Noel Doherty. The total raised was £1800
which was shared between the Foyle Branch & Cystic Fibrosis.

Michael Henry raised a fanatastic £3500 through his sponsored run in the 2008 London marathon. He donated £500 to the Strabane Branch & £3000 to the Foyle Branch.
Michael is a committed supporter of the MS Society in the North-West and has run sponsored events on behalf of the Society in the past.

Ban Joe's Bar in Dungiven presented the Foyle Branch with a cheque for £750.
Mrs. O'Neill & Nicola are pictured presenting the cheque to Terry.
Mark Gamble presented Terry with the proceeds of a raffle organised by himself & his mother, Jacqueline, to raise funds for the Branch. A lot of the prizes were items Jacqueline knitted and together they raised £720.
Michael Henry and Paul Canning who both completed the Waterside half marathon and raised £500 for the Foyle Branch present the cheque to Terry.
Pupils from Limavady Central Primary School made a magnificent presentation of £570 to Foyle Branch of the MS Society. Pupils from the school are pictured with Development Officer, Terry McNamee, School Principal, Mr Wilson Manning and Mr Maurice Stewart, a member of Foyle Branch from Limavady. A huge thank you to all those involved from Foyle Branch.
David Mace, Area Representative for the Hospital Saturday Fund (HSF) who presented Foyle Branch with a cheque for £750 towards the work of the Branch. David is pictured presenting the cheque to Terry.
Local business, Mortgage & Property Matters, held a gala ball as part of their 15 year celebrations and raised money for seven charities which included the MS Society Foyle Branch. Each charity received £600. Terry is pictured accepting a cheque on behalf of the Branch from proprietor, Alastair McCrea, who organised the event, and is pictured on Terry's left.
Sandra Robinson, the organiser, accompanied by some of the participants, presents a cheque for £3771.32 jointly to Terry & Mary Crawford of Friends of Spruce House. The proceeds of a sponsored walk from The Inn on the Cross to Claudy and a dance in the Beaufort Hotel in Claudy were shared equally between the MSFoyle Branch and the Friends of Spruce House. Cliona & her daughter, Jennifer, with her sister Daire (centre) who presented Terry with a cheque for £506, the proceeds of Daire's parachute jump. You can read Cliona's story on the Members' page.
Naomi & her friends undertook a sponsored parachute jump in aid of the Foyle Branch on Saturday, 3rd June 2006. Despite experiencing a relapse of her MS on the day, Naomi completed the jump. Eglinton Cricket Club held a 'Rangers v Celtic' cricket match at their club grounds as part of their cross-community work and raised £150 which they donated to MS Society Foyle. Terry gratefully accepts the cheque from Jason Olphert, Sean Lynch and Andy McIntyre who organised the match.

Pearl Woodburn, President, and Mary McKinney, Secretary, of Soroptimists International of Londonderry present Terry with a cheque for £100 to be used by the MS Foyle Branch locally in its work supporting people affected by MS.
Open & Direct Insurance presented Foyle Branch with funding for the purchase of IT equipment in the Branch Office. Beverley Nickell, Marketing Manager of Open & Direct Insurance said, "As a provider of insurance to the
people in the L'Derry area for many years, we are delighted to be able to express our gratitude and help put something back into the local community.
